Olympic Handball Overview
Handball is a sport that is most popular in Europe. It is played indoors and is fast and furious with 50 or more goals usually being scored per game. The athletes are agile, often flying through the air to make shots. Handball was first played at the Berlin 1936 Olympics but dropped until it was reintroduced in 1972 for the men's event. A women's event was introduced in 1976.
Handball Venue
Preliminary and quarterfinal rounds will be held at the Handball Arena and semis and finals at the Basketball Arena.
