Ferry

taking a ferry in london

The River Thames is a major part of London and boats ply the river servicing both tourists and commuters. It is possible to travel from Putney in the west to Woolwich in the east of the city with stops in between. Ferry travel is not included as part of the Oyster Card or travelcard fares but holders of these cards will get a discount.

If you have the opportunity to travel by ferry, you should take it. On a warm, sunny day in London the ferry tip is beautiful and a much better option than the stuffy Underground. For more information on London's ferries, check out Transport for London's River Guide.
