London 2012 Games |
London is a very walkable city, especially within Zone 1 of the London Underground Map. You will often be surprised how close the Underground stations actually are to each other and walking will often make more sense, especially during rush hour when the Tube will be packed and street traffic will be crawling along. The advantage of walking in Central London is the number of beautiful buildings and tourist sights you will take in along the way. You will have a hard time walking from one side of the city to the other or from venue to venue but, if you are in Central London and seeing major tourist sites is what you want to do then you should save yourself the hassle of the Underground and just walk. This of course depends on the weather some hopefully the rains will stay away during the Games! To figure out walking times and routes in the city, use Transport for London's advanced journey planner. Just scroll to the bottom and select the walking option. ![]() |
